Aero-Glass (Windows)

Windows in our Aero Glass range

Aero Glass is a high-spec glazing system designed for control towers, terminals, hangars and secure airport zones. The range includes toughened windows, high-security door sets and acoustic-rated roof lights, all engineered to handle extreme noise, pressure and safety requirements. Each unit is made to order, with frame and glass profiles developed to meet strict performance standards.

About our glass…

Here’s how our window panes are constructed for airport and terminal buildings:

1. Toughened Outer Glass

Safety First – The exterior layer uses laminated safety glass, tested to EN 12600 impact standards. If struck by baggage carts, jet-blast debris, or high-traffic impacts, it will crack but remain bonded, protecting passengers and staff in critical zones.

2. Acoustic PVB Interlayer

Quieter Terminal Spaces – Our high-performance acoustic PVB interlayer is designed to cut down aircraft engine and apron noise. With asymmetric glass build-ups, Aero-Glass achieves Rw ratings up to 45 dB (glass only), making gate lounges, concourses, and retail areas more comfortable for travellers.

3. Terminal-Grade Spacer

Stops Heat Loss & Condensation – Each unit uses EN 1279-certified warm-edge spacers. These precision spacers keep the panes exactly apart, locking in the argon gas cavity and minimising edge heat loss and condensation — vital for expansive glazed facades in airports.

4. Argon Gas Cavity

Engineered for Efficiency – The gap between panes is filled with argon gas, achieving centre‑pane U‑values around 1.0–1.2 W/m²K. This helps terminals stay comfortable in all seasons while cutting energy costs.

5. Low‑E Coating

Invisible Energy Saver – A specialist coating reflects heat back in during winter and reduces solar gain in summer. For airports, we tune coatings to g‑values of 0.35–0.40, reducing cooling loads while maximising daylight.

6. Inner Layer

Strong & Secure – The inner pane can be toughened or laminated for strength and safety. In higher‑risk areas, we provide blast‑resistant options to ISO 16933 and attack‑resistance to EN 356, ensuring complete protection for public facades.

The Aero-Glass System isn’t just double glazing — it’s a multi-layered protective envelope, built to handle the unique demands of modern airports: high footfall, noise control, climate efficiency, and public safety.
