Specialist Glazing Systems for Aviation Environments
Built for High-Demand Airport Environments
Exposure to jet wash, temperature fluctuations, high wind loads and aircraft vibration places continuous stress on glazing systems, accelerating wear on frames and seals.
Airports rarely have the luxury of downtime to address these issues. MGC’s experienced glaziers install reinforced glazing systems using high-performance aluminium frames and specialist glass units designed for these conditions.
For most airport projects, this involves our Aero-Glass System, developed in-house for demanding commercial environments. It was successfully installed at London City Airport, where improved acoustics and thermal performance were required while maintaining full compliance within a live terminal.
Installation of Large Glazing Systems
Terminal buildings regularly feature large glazed facades and floor-to-ceiling units, often incorporating our Aero-Glass System for enhanced performance. Installing these requires crane lifts and specialist rigging, and within a live airport environment, all works must be carefully planned around security protocols, operational timetables and site rules.
We deploy our own fully insured vehicles airside, ensuring we are not reliant on airport facilities management for transport or equipment, and allowing projects to remain self-contained and on programme.
